HP OFFICEJET 7500A MFD

The HP Oiffcejet 7500A Wide is a thermal inkjet all-in-one printer capable of printing and scanning tabloid-sized  A3 documents. It features a printer, flatbed scanner, a copier and color fax machine, including Web printing capabilities. This AIO can be connected to the office network via Ethernet or using the built-in 802.11 b/g/n wireless protocol. The legal-sized flatbed scanner features a 35-sheet (A4) ADF and can scan A3 pages with ease, but needs to be scanned in two halves. The two scans are later merged  into  a  single  A3  document  and  this  can  be  done  either on the printer itself or via the bundled ArcSoft application. The
printer has an output resolution of 600 dpi for black prints and 4800x1200 dpi for color. You can print borderless pages as wide as 13x19 inches, which is great for CAD designers and architects. One down side is the lack of an automatic duplexer.
The build quality is quite rugged, but the glossy surface can get dusty fast. The control panel sports a 2.3-inch resistive touch screen along with a feather-touch backlit numeric pad, but we found the user interface sluggish. The rear features the USB, Ethernet and telephone connections, while the front sports an MMC card reader, but no USB port for storage drives. The printer needs four individual ink tanks, which are placed on a single  head  cartridge.  Larger  capacity  ink  tanks  (XL)  can  also  be installed to print higher volumes of black and color documents.
Our tests revealed average print speeds; a maximum of 21 ppm and 10 ppm for black and color documents respectively. A 4x6-inch borderless photo at maximum DPI was printed in just  49  seconds,  while  an  A4-sized  photo  could  be  scanned  in just 43 seconds. Copying black or color documents can be done in 17 seconds and 28 seconds respectively. The printer takes around 51 seconds to startup and subsequently the first print can be expected in an average of 16 seconds. The quality of the prints are just above average and draft prints were slightly below the mark. In best mode, the ink tends to smudge or merge when different colors are too close as the ink seems to dry a little slowly. For photos, even though the overall print was acceptable, a closer look revealed a grainy image. We also witnessed a few paper jams while printing some dual-sided pages by manually flipping them. To sum up, the Office jet 7500A  Wide  is  an  average  multi-functional  device  ideal  for  an office environment where tabloid-sized (A3) pages need to be scanned or printed on a regular basis.
