HP OFFICEJET 100 MOBILE PRINTER

The tiny OfficeJet 100 Mobile Printer is aimed at those who move around a lot. It needs no external power as it is equipped with a 2100 mAh Li-ion battery. Apart from the regular USB 2.0 and PictBridge interface, the printer features Bluetooth connectivity, enabling one to print documents and photos wirelessly. Prints are obtained at a maximum resolution of 600 x 600 dpi in monochrome, while color photos can be printed at a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. The printer sports a rugged build with a matte-finished exterior. The printer’s lid, when opened up, doubles up as a 50-sheet paper tray and the paper output door automatically pops open when powered on. The control panel comprises only of power, paper feed, cancel, and Bluetooth buttons. The manufacturer states this printer can print at maximum draft speeds of 22 pages per minute in monochrome and 18 pages per minute in color, but our tests resulted in 16 pages per minute and 13 pages per minute respectively. This printer turns out 4x6-inch borderless photos in just over two minutes, but the print quality was quite below average.

VERDICT: A highly compact mobile printer with a battery backup and Bluetooth connectivity.
FOR: Compact size, battery powered, speedy prints.
AGAINST: Below average photo prints.
